Job summary

The YMCA of Catawba Valley is seeking a Personal Trainer to lead and supervise fitness sessions in the Fitness Center, ensuring high-quality programming for members. Responsibilities include training, assessments, equipment education, and member engagement.

Qualified candidates will have a degree in health/science, 1+ year health/fitness experience, and current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications with the ability to obtain aqua specialty if pool training is needed.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates customer services skills and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of strength and cardiovascular training principles.
• Current CPR certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and instruct personal and group training sessions for clients.
• Administer, track, and evaluate health history questionnaires and fitness assessments.
• Educate members in proper use of equipment and promote healthy living.
• Maintain client lists and records as required by the Program Director.
• Promote and sell personal training programs and services.
• Follow Wellness Floor expectations when not scheduled for training or consultations.
• Attend Fitness Center staff meetings and participate in ongoing training.
