Job summary

Carle Health in Florida is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support RNs and UNLs in high-acuity patient care. Responsibilities include administering oral meds, IV piggybacks, trach care, wound dressings, and documenting assessments and care plans after the RN’s initial evaluation and orders.

This role emphasizes teamwork with RNs, physicians, and APPs, with a focus on safe medication administration, NG tube care, ostomy care, and patient education.

Qualifications

• Valid LPN license with state approval.
• BLS certification within 30 days of start date.

Responsibilities

• Passes all medications, including oral meds and IV piggybacks.
• Charts assessments on assigned patients after RN initial assessment.
• Assist with care plans and documentation as RN initiates.Communicates with physicians/APPs to receive orders and coordinate care.
• Perform dressing changes, trach care, and NG tube care.
• Change ostomy care when needed and reinforce discharge instructions.
