Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support nursing teams and assist with patient care alongside RNs. Duties include medication administration, IV piggyback administration, and patient assessments after initial RN evaluation.

The role requires an LPN license (IDFPR) and BLS certification within 30 days. You will collaborate with physicians and APPs to coordinate care and reinforce discharge instructions.

Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) credential with IDFPR.
• BLS certification within 30 days - American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Passes all medications, hangs IV piggybacks and fluids (excludes IV Push meds).
• Charts assessments on assigned patients after the RN's initial assessment.
• Charts on care plans opened by the RN.
• As needed, RN opens new care plans.
• Communicates with physicians/APPs to receive orders and coordinate care.
• Complete dressing changes and trach care as needed.
• Insert and care for NG tube and feedings through NG tube.
• Care for and change ostomy.
• Reinforce education and discharge instructions.
