Job summary

Carle Health is seeking an LPN to support RNs by administering medications, managing IV piggybacks, and documenting assessments after the initial RN evaluation. The role includes dressing changes, trach care, NG tube/feeding support, ostomy care, and reinforcing discharge instructions.

The ideal candidate will hold a Licensed Practical Nurse license with BLS and will collaborate with physicians and APPs to coordinate patient care across shifts.

Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification and licensure as required by state.
• BLS within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Passes all medications, hangs IV piggybacks and fluids, excluding IV Push meds.
• Charts assessments on assigned patients after the RN’s initial assessment.
• Charts on care plans opened by the RN and collaborates on new plans as needed.
• Communicates with physicians/APPs to receive orders and coordinate care.
• Performs dressing changes, trach care, and NG tube care with feeding as required.
• Care for and change ostomy and reinforce discharge instructions.
