Job summary

Cardinal Glass in Ocala, FL is seeking a Production Technician to support glass production on-site. The role emphasizes teamwork, focus, and initiative to maintain orderly, safe operations in the plant environment.

The position requires standing for long periods, reading a tape measure to 16ths, and handling glass up to 50 pounds. You will operate within a Cardinal team, following safety rules and procedures to produce quality products.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Prior production work in a manufacturing plant preferred.
• Ability to read a tape measure to 16ths.
• Must be able to stand all day.
• Must handle glass up to 50 pounds solo; heavier loads require two people.
• Positive safety attitude.

Responsibilities

• Works anywhere in the plant as needed.
• Performs work as directed by supervision.
• Keeps the work area clean and organized.
• Moves glass from one rack to another to prepare for shipment.
• May spray powder between glass panels.
• Repeat process until rack is full.
• Secures glass with binding, honeycomb strips and corner boards.
• Reads safety rules and manuals.
• Understands basic math for measurements.
• Trims excess vinyl off units from clave racks and places on inspection lines.
• Produces a quality product in a timely manner.
• Wears required PPE.
• Works as a Cardinal team member.
• Other duties as assigned.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

• Requires the need to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
• Trims the excess vinyl off units from clave racks and placed on the inspection lines
• Produces a quality product in a timely manner.
• Wears all the required personal protective equipment for the specific job.
• Works as a Cardinal team member, not a specific department member.
• Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

• Poduction Technicians are expected to handle glass up to 50 pounds by themselves and any glass over 50 pounds requires at least two people working together.
