Job summary

Atrius Health, part of the Optum family, is a leading multi-specialty health care group with locations across eastern Massachusetts. We’re seeking a Cardiac Ultrasonographer to perform diagnostic ultrasonography in accordance with policy and to support cardiology services.

You will conduct adult M‑Mode, 2‑D, Doppler and color Doppler exams and may perform pediatric studies. You’ll work with a team to ensure accurate imaging and high-quality patient care, while maintaining confidentiality and

Qualifications

• RDCS certification required.
• ACLS may be required depending on specialty.
• BLS certification required.
• Must provide CEU documentation for certification.
• Demonstrated ability to perform tests independently.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs adult M‑Mode, 2‑D, Doppler and color Doppler cardiac ultrasound exams and related procedures.
• May perform pediatric echocardiograms with experienced staff.
• Performs stress/echo, dobutamine echoes and contrast studies.
• Operates ultrasound equipment and documents findings for the interpreting cardiologist.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and safety.
• Documents abnormal findings, measurements and dates for exams.
• Communicates effectively with patients and health care team; assists with report distribution.
• Recognizes equipment issues and reports them to the supervisor.
