Job summary

University of Florida Jacksonville Physicians, Inc. seeks an Advanced Practice Provider V (APP V) licensed in Florida and/or Georgia to provide direct patient care under a physician.

The role focuses on inpatient care, with substantial involvement in OR first assist duties and critical care settings. Responsibilities include invasive monitoring, vein harvests, pre/postoperative care, and education of nurses and residents.

Qualifications

• 2 years Cardiothoracic surgical experience required
• Masters PA or Masters NP required
• PA or APRN Licensure required at time of hire
• BCLS, ACLS and PALS required at time of hire

Responsibilities

• Endoscopic and open vein harvesting for bypass grafts and related procedures.
• Invasive monitoring and arterial/central venous line placement, thoracostomy tube care.
• Pre/postoperative care, histories and physicals, and discharge planning.
• ICU care with hemodynamic management and ventilator support.
• First assist in cardiac, thoracic and vascular surgeries.
• Educator and trainer for nurses, residents and fellows.
• Engage in quality improvement and performance initiatives.
• Call coverage as required by department needs.
