Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Suffolk is seeking a Cardiac Monitor Tech for Med Surg, 2 North, part-time day shift (7 a.m. – 7 p.m.) with alternating weekends. You will operate telemetry systems to detect arrhythmias and provide data for physicians and telemetry staff.

duties include labeling and mounting ECG strips, maintaining equipment, and assisting in training new hires. You will also document patient information, manage supplies, and escalate any critical findings promptly to ensure patient safety

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read/write to document in patient charts and perform basic arithmetic.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and physical sciences.
• Basic analytical skills to recognize abnormal rhythms and notify staff.
• Passing grade of 85% on the Dysrhythmia Proficiency Exam.

Responsibilities

• Monitor telemetry equipment and identify rhythm variations.
• Label, edit and mount ECG rhythm strips for physician review.
• Maintain telemetry equipment and arrange repairs as needed.
• Enter patient admission information into the monitoring system and logs.
• Order and stock monitoring supplies and ensure equipment safety and cleanliness.
• Notify staff of critical events and ensure timely escalation.
• Support orientation and training of new staff.
