Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Suffolk in eastern Long Island seeks a Cardiac Monitor Tech for 2 North, part-time, day shift (7 a.m. to 7 p.m.) with alternate weekends.

The role focuses on operating telemetry equipment to monitor patients' cardiac rhythms and provide data to physicians and telemetry staff. You will label and mount ECG strips, maintain equipment, participate in new employee orientation, and help ensure accurate patient information and safety.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology and physical sciences.
• Basic analytical skills to recognize abnormal heart rhythms or artifact.
• Ability to read and write to record information in patient charts.

Responsibilities

• Operates telemetry monitoring equipment to identify arrhythmias.
• Labels, edits and mounts ECG strips for physician review.
• Maintains telemetry equipment and reports issues to Biomedical Engineering.
• Participates in the orientation of new employees.
• Notifies nursing staff of critical heart activity in a timely fashion.
