Job summary

Butler Memorial Hospital seeks a Telemetry Monitor Technician to support patient monitoring, data collection, and communication of rhythm changes. The role collaborates with RNs and physicians to ensure timely information flow and patient safety within the telemetry unit.

Responsibilities include monitoring arrhythmias, documenting data, and assisting in education and performance improvement activities while serving as a preceptor to new hires.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or higher level of education.
• Strong leadership ability, good organizational skills, independent and critical thinking skills, sound judgment, and knowledge of legal aspects and liability of nursing practice.
• Strong ability to communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience.

Responsibilities

• Collect telemetry data and report ongoing telemetry data for each patient.
• Send data and rhythm strips to unit to be placed on the patient’s chart.
• Notify nursing units of arrhythmias per established procedures.
• Maintain completeness, accuracy and timeliness of documentation.
• Assist RN in care of the patient by communicating arrhythmias and addressing monitor problems.
