Job summary

Trinity Health is seeking a Telemetry Monitor Technician to oversee cardiac rhythms for a group of patients in the Central Monitoring Area and to observe patients remotely via continuous tele-visual monitoring. The role includes reporting arrhythmias to the RN, maintaining documentation, and ensuring patient safety across units.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, ability to read/write English, and experience with monitors/EKGs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to read and write English at a high school level.
• Ability to perform arithmetic to calculate cardiac intervals.
• Previous experience reading monitors or EKGs required.
• Must complete basic arrhythmia class with passing score within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Monitors and interprets cardiac rhythms for a group of patients in Central Monitoring Area.
• Monitors patients remotely using continuous tele-visual monitoring to ensure safety.
• Documents rhythms on Cardiac Monitor Flow Sheet and Patient Monitoring Log.
• Prints rhythm strips and calculates intervals using E-calipers or equipment.
• Delivers rhythm strips and documentation to patient care units as needed.
• Notifies RN of alarms or rhythm/heart rate changes.
• Redirects patients verbally to promote safety and coordinates with care staff.
• Collaborates with nursing leadership to allocate monitoring resources.
