Job summary

Independence Health System seeks a Telemetry Monitor Technician to monitor cardiac rhythms and analyze arrhythmias, promptly reporting findings to the staff nurse. You will document telemetry data and ensure data is added to patient charts per policy.

Responsibilities include notifying nursing units of arrhythmias, supporting RN care, and collaborating with physicians to maintain patient flow. Leadership and mentoring duties are also part of the role.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Strong leadership ability, good organizational skills, independent and critical thinking skills, sound judgment.
• Strong ability to communicate complex topics to a wide audience.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to indirect patient care within hospital policy and standards.
• Collects, documents and reports telemetry data for each patient.
• Sends data and rhythm strips to the unit chart.
• Notifies nursing units of arrhythmias per procedure.
• Maintains documentation accuracy and timeliness.
• Assists RN in communicating arrhythmias and addressing monitor problems.
• Collaborates with physicians to ensure continuous patient care.
• Performs in shift reports and documents changes in patient rhythms.
• Participates in unit performance improvement activities and data collection.
• Acts as a mentor/preceptor to new hires and helps reduce costs.
