Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must read and write English at a high school level.
• Ability to read monitors or EKGs and calculate cardiac intervals.
• Must complete a basic arrhythmia class with a passing score within 30 days.
• Must complete an arrhythmia competency test with a passing score.
• Must communicate clearly with health care team.

Responsibilities

• Monitors and interprets cardiac rhythms for a group of patients.
• Observes patients remotely using continuous tele-visual monitoring to ensure safety.
• Documents rhythms on the monitoring logs and prints rhythm strips as needed.
• Notifies RN of alarms or rhythm/heart-rate changes.
• Maintains and troubleshoots monitoring equipment and supplies.
• Ensures patient safety through courteous redirection and teamwork.
