Job summary

MercyOne is seeking a Registered Nurse for the 7N cardiac telemetry unit in Des Moines, IA. The role focuses on care for patients recovering from cardiovascular surgery, with emphasis on safety, accuracy, and interdisciplinary collaboration across nursing and medical teams.

Responsibilities include initial assessments, developing care plans, coordinating care, and ensuring documentation and patient education meet MercyOne standards. BSN preferred; Iowa RN license required; BLS for all staff.

Qualifications

• High language, intermediate to high math, high critical thinking ability.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial patient assessments and update care plans.
• Coordinate with the care team across disciplines.
• Ensure documentation is complete, accurate and timely.
• Administer medications per physician orders and policies.
• Collaborate with case management and discharge planning.
• Maintain telemetry and cardiac monitoring as required.
