Job summary

Fairview Health Services is seeking a Nursing Station Technician at M Health Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina, MN. This hybrid role combines Nursing Assistant and Health Unit Coordinator duties, working 8-hour evening shifts, 24 hours every two weeks, with every other weekend.

You will support a fast-paced 35-bed cardiac telemetry unit, delivering patient care under supervision and ensuring smooth unit operations. BLS certification required; OnTrack nursing assistant training preferred.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required; OnTrack participants must obtain BLS upon completion.
• Successful completion of Fairview’s OnTrack Nursing Assistant training program or another Fairview sponsored Nursing Assistant program.
• Six months of direct care experience in a long term, home care or acute care setting.
• Current enrollment in an LPN, RN or Nurse Practitioner program, with one semester of clinical rotation.
• Current MN Nursing Assistant Registry certification on hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist professional caregiver in patient care delivery, transporting patient and equipment.
• Set up and maintain patient rooms, reorder and stock supplies.
• Perform clerical, transcription and desk-area tasks on the unit.
• Coordinate flow of communication on the patient care unit.
• Work under the supervision of a professional nurse in a hybrid Nursing Assistant/Health Unit Coordinator role.
