Job summary

The Chesapeake Regional Medical Center is seeking a Care Partner to assist the nurse in delivering patient care across units. Your responsibilities include taking vital signs, assisting with daily living activities, and documenting data in the electronic medical record, under supervision.

You will communicate with patients and families, maintain a safe environment, and support the care team to ensure timely, compassionate care. BLS within 90 days and CNA certification preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Nursing Assistant certification preferred.
• BLS within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Take vital signs, monitor intake/output, and assist with activities of daily living and document in EMR.
• Competent in orthostatic blood pressures and blood glucose monitoring.
• Collect/transport and perform data entry for lab specimens per policy.
• Obtain blood products from Blood Bank and notify nurse of changes in patient condition.
• Maintain/stock supplies at bedside and in med rooms; follow cost-effective routines.
• Communicate with peers, physicians, and families; report procedures to the nurse.
• Respond promptly to alarms, ensure patient safety, and provide a calm environment.
• Contribute to a healthy team environment and adapt to changes in workflow.
• Follow hospital policies and participate in required orientations and trainings.
