Job summary

Advocate Health Care in Park Ridge, IL is seeking a Nurse Aide to support registered nurses in delivering patient-centered care across the unit. You will assist with daily activities, monitor vital signs, perform point-of-care tests, and help with admissions and transport, ensuring safety and comfort.

The role requires Basic Life Support certification, Nurse Aide registration, and a GED/HSED or high school diploma.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Assist RN with daily patient care (bathing, feeding, ambulation).
Measure and document vital signs and intake/output; document in EMR.
Perform purposeful rounding and communicate observations to RN.
Assist in admission, transfer and discharge processes; prepare rooms and orientation.
Collect urine, stool, and sputum specimens and perform point-of-care testing as needed.
Run errands and maintain stock for nursing area; clean equipment and areas.
Assist with patient positioning, transporting, and nutrition-related tasks.
Maintain skin integrity and ensure supplies like TED hose are provided.
May assist with IV removal, post mortem care, and bladder scans as directed.
Practice infection prevention: hand hygiene, sterile procedures.
