Job summary

MercyOne Trinity Health is seeking a dedicated RN for a Full-time 12-hour night shift on a cardiac telemetry unit in Des Moines, IA. The unit provides VAD training after orientation for both new graduates and experienced nurses, promoting growth in advanced cardiac therapies.

The role emphasizes safe, culturally competent care across acute medical/surgical patients, with strong collaboration and discharge planning responsibilities.

Qualifications

• ADN required; BSN preferred.
• Current Iowa RN license required.
• BLS certification required; ACLS required if telemetry monitoring.
• Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter training within 3 months of hire.
• Strong critical thinking, communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial patient assessment within 30 minutes of arrival.
• Complete admission assessment within 24 hours of admission.
• Develop and update outcome-based care plans.
• Coordinate and delegate nursing care within the team.
• Manage telemetry monitoring and respond to arrhythmias.
• Facilitate discharge planning and patient education.
• Communicate with physicians and interdisciplinary team to optimize outcomes.
