Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma or certificate required.
• Minimum of four years progressively responsible experience in cardiac testing.
• Proficiency in pacemaker telemetry, cardiac monitor analysis and pacemaker interrogation.
• BLS certification required.
• Pacemaker interrogation competency or MUSE CVIS System Administration competency completed.
• Experience with computer information systems in a cardiac unit.
• Working knowledge of medical terms, abbreviations, and symbols.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication to patients and for documentation.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and review patient history; prep patient and explain procedures.
• Perform EKGs; edit directories; operate MUSE cardiovascular system.
• Conduct Exercise Tolerance Testing under MD direction.
• Assist clinician during implantable loop procedures as needed.
• Use monitoring devices to capture rhythms, BP, SpO2; learn Tilt table operation.
• Gather patient information pre-Tilt/ILR procedures.
• Analyze cardiac monitors and report abnormal findings to MD.
• May complete billing as required.
• Answer calls, schedule appointments per clinician directions.
• Provide test/prep information to patients.
• Perform pacer interrogation and device testing per orders.
• Interpret home remote monitoring data; create reports.
• Serve as a resource for staff on clinical/technical issues.
• Troubleshoot and repair EKG/ETT equipment; coordinate with Clinical Engineering.
• Complete required documentation for all tasks.
