Job summary

Kaiser Permanente Anaheim is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join our operating room team. Under supervision, you scrub, assist with instrument handling, and support surgeons during procedures.

You will prepare and position patients, maintain sterile technique, and help train new staff, while ensuring patient safety and efficient case flow. Part-time schedule with growth opportunities within a leading integrated health system.

Qualifications

• One year of operating room experience scrubbing within the last two years.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• Surgical Technologist Certification within 3 months of hire from a recognized board.

Responsibilities

• Assist physician during minor surgical procedures.
• Assist in obtaining tissue specimens.
• Assist physician in developing new techniques and procedures.
• Follow standard infection control procedures.
• Lift patients.
• Prepare and position patients for diagnostic tests and procedures.
• Respond to emergencies and coordinate patient transfers.
• Shave and apply antiseptic solutions to patient skin areas.
• Assist in cardiovascular procedures and with pacemaker procedures.
• Pass instruments, cut sutures, and hold retractors as part of the surgical team.
• Set up instruments and surgical trays; maintain sterilized supplies.
