Job summary

Hartford HealthCare Heart & Vascular Institute in Hartford, CT is seeking a dynamic Operating Room Physician Assistant to join the Cardiac Surgery team. Under a cardiothoracic surgeon, you will assist in procedures, harvest vessels endoscopically, and participate in preop and postop patient care.

The role requires an Accredited PA program graduate, CT licensure or eligibility, and cardiovascular surgery experience; new grads may be considered.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Master’s program.
• Licensed, or eligible to be licensed, as a Physician Assistant in the state of Connecticut.
• Certification or eligible to be certified as a Physician Assistant.
• 2+ years’ experience in cardiovascular surgery preferred - open to hire the right new grad.
• First assistant experience, including endoscopic vein harvesting skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• First assisting cardiovascular surgical procedures, endoscopic vessel harvesting, preoperative history and physical examination.
• Postoperative care in an outpatient clinical setting and patient education.
