Job summary

Steward Health Care in Louisiana seeks an experienced nurse leader to oversee the Chest Pain Center and Primary Stroke coordination across hospital and rural facilities, driving protocol development and CQI initiatives to improve patient care.

You will coordinate EMS, medical staff, and departments to ensure timely diagnosis and treatment, maintain accreditation, and guide data abstraction and reporting for performance evaluation.

Qualifications

• Registered nurse with 5 years management experience.
• BSN required, Masters preferred.
• 5 years of critical care experience in ED or ICU.
• CPR instructor status within 18 months of hire date.
• ACLS, PALS, NRPS preferred; ACLS instructor within 18 months; PALS/NRP provider status within 2–3 years.

Responsibilities

• Develop, oversee, and assess protocols for chest pain and stroke care across hospital and rural facilities.
• Collaborate with Medical Directors on educational offerings regarding acute coronary syndrome and stroke care.
• Direct STEMI and Stroke Alert programs, liaising with leadership and rural hospitals.
• Educate internally and in the community on early heart attack/stroke care and CPR.
• Coordinate with EMS to ensure continuity of care from pre-hospital to hospital.
• Work with multidisciplinary teams to obtain and maintain Chest Pain Center accreditation.
