Job summary

St. Joseph’s Health in Paterson, NJ is seeking a Per Diem Patient Care Associate for the Cardiac Stepdown Department. You will assist patients with daily activities, provide basic care to acutely ill patients, and help maintain a safe environment.

EKGs and venipuncture are performed as directed by the RN. The role may require BLS certification within 6 months of hire and a PCA/PCT credential or nursing school enrollment with relevant coursework.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• BLS certification within 6 months of hire
• PCA/PCT diploma with 6 months to 1 year of healthcare experience in the last 6 months
• Enrollment in nursing school with Nursing Fundamentals level 1 coursework
• Evidence of completion in Nursing Fundamentals coursework
• Evidence of completion in Nursing Assistant training program
• PCA/PCT, Home Health Aide or CMA experience
