Cardiac Sonographer – Baylor Scott & White Health – Temple, TX
Job Description Cardiac Sonographer 2 in Temple, Texas. Cardiac Sonographer Work in a progressive team to perform basic to advanced cardiac ultrasound studies for adult patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for procedures, obtain clinical history and adapt imaging techniques to obtain diagnostic echocardiograms.
- Perform basic to advanced cardiac ultrasound procedures, measure required parameters for accurate interpretation.
- Identify and define cardiac abnormalities, extend scope of examination as necessary, correlate invasive and noninvasive test results.
- Assist physicians in procedure rooms and operating rooms – perform transesophageal studies, sterilize probes.
- Record statistics, maintain Echocardiography Lab equipment, report malfunctions.
- Act as a resource for staff, physicians, students on equipment and procedures.
- Work closely with quality coordinator, assist with ICAEL accreditation activities.
- Implement evolving protocols and ensure adherence to echocardiography standards.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an Accredited Cardiac Sonography Program or 2 years of relevant experience.
- Less than 1 year of experience.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.
- Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) – must hold at time of hire/transfer.
