Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital invites applications for a Cardiac Sonographer Resident. The role involves performing inpatient and outpatient cardiac ultrasound tests, including 2D echo, Doppler, and bubble studies, with additional assessments of cardiac function, effusion, and thrombus.

Documentation and preliminary findings are provided for a wide patient age range. Eligibility includes graduation from a registry-approved ultrasound program or a CAAHEP-accredited cardiac sonography program; ARDMS

Qualifications

• Graduate of registry approved ultrasound program or a CAAHEP-accredited Cardiac Sonographer program, or equivalent per IAC.
• Two years of related hospital inpatient or outpatient experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform inpatient and/or outpatient cardiac ultrasound testing including 2D echo, Doppler with bubble study, and contrast; assess function, effusion, and thrombus.
• Provide detailed documentation and preliminary exam findings; ensure quality patient care across age groups.

Job description

Cardiac Sonographer Resident

Responsibilities:

Perform inpatient and/or outpatient cardiac ultrasound testing to include 2D echo / Doppler exams with bubble study, contrast as well as limited studies for cardiac function, effusion assessment and thrombus assessment. Provide complex technical care with the use of ultrasound technology for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients and provide all necessary documentation and preliminary exam findings.

Qualifications:

Minimum Education Required:

Graduate of registry approved ultrasound program, a CAAHEP accredited Cardiac Sonographer program, or equivalent experience according to Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC).

Minimum Experience Required:

None

Minimum Licensure/Certification Required by Law:

• Current registered or registry eligible with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) with RDCS certification or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) with RCS certification.
• Must obtain appropriate credential within twelve months of hire date.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification in accordance with the American Heart Association is required.

Additional Qualifications:

Two years of related experience as a hospital inpatient or outpatient / ambulatory cardiac sonographer preferred.
