Job summary

Ogden Regional Medical Center is seeking a Cardiac Sonographer PRN to join a family-like team. The role involves performing echocardiography in inpatient, outpatient, or intraoperative settings and providing complete diagnostic information to physicians.

Responsibilities include patient prep, correlating histories with ordered tests, following infection control policies, and utilizing various ultrasound techniques per hospital protocols.

Qualifications

  • Basic Life Support must be obtained within 7 days of employment start date.
  • Certification in RDCS or RCS must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date.
  • RDCS or RCS credential required within 1 year of start date.

Responsibilities

  • Perform cardiac ultrasound (echocardiography) procedures in various settings.
  • Provide physicians with complete anatomical and functional diagnostic information.
  • Prepare patients for procedures and correlate history with tests ordered by physicians.
  • Follow infection prevention policies and use personal protective equipment.
  • Operate ultrasound equipment per clinical standards and hospital protocols.
  • May perform other duties related to clinical diagnostic testing within cardiology services.

Job Summary And Qualifications

As a Cardiac Sonographer, you will work with a team that considers themselves a family where each member works hard to support each other. We are looking for someone who feels patient care is as meaningful as we do. In this role:

  • You will, under the direction of the Manager, be responsible for performing cardiac ultrasound (echocardiography) procedures such as transthoracic, stress, transesophageal, intra-operative echocardiograms within the inpatient, outpatient, or intraoperative settings.
  • You will provide physicians with complete, accurate anatomical and functional diagnostic information.
  • You will accurately prepare patients for procedures and correlate patient history with all tests that have been ordered by physicians.
  • You will follow established surveillance, prevention and control of infection policies and procedures to identify and reduce the risks of acquiring or transmitting infection by use of personal protective measures.
  • You will expertly perform all ultrasound procedures in assigned specialty service areas utilizing a variety of equipment and techniques in accordance with established clinical practice standards, hospital guidelines and protocols.
  • You will, with proper training and knowledge of other functions within the cardiology services, may perform other duties related to clinical diagnostic testing and/or operational tasks that manifest a teamwork environment.
What qualifications you will need:
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 7 days of employment start date
  • Certificate must be obtained within 18 months of employment start date
  • (RDCS) Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer, or (RCS) Registered Cardiac Sonographer must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
