Job summary

Lakeview Hospital in Utah is seeking an Echo/Vascular Tech to join a dedicated team within the HCA Healthcare network. You will perform echocardiography in various settings, ensuring high-quality diagnostic information for physicians and maintaining patient safety through proper prep and infection control.

The role emphasizes teamwork and adherence to clinical standards, with opportunities to expand responsibilities within cardiology diagnostic testing and operations.

Qualifications

• BLS certification must be obtained within 7 days of employment start date.
• RDCS or RCS certification, or associate/bachelor degree or certificate must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Perform transthoracic, stress, transesophageal, and intraoperative echocardiograms in inpatient, outpatient, or intraoperative settings.
• Provide physicians with complete, accurate anatomical and functional diagnostic information.
• Prepare patients for procedures and correlate history with tests ordered by physicians.
• Follow infection prevention policies to minimize risk of infection.
• Perform all ultrasound procedures in assigned service areas according to clinical standards and hospital protocols.
• May perform other duties related to clinical diagnostic testing and operational tasks as part of a team.

Job Summary and Qualifications

As an Echo/Vascular Tech, you will work with a team that considers themselves a family where each member works hard to support each other. We are looking for someone who feels patient care is as meaningful as we do. In this role:

• You will, under the direction of the Manager, be responsible for performing cardiac ultrasound (echocardiography) procedures such as transthoracic, stress, transesophageal, intra-operative echocardiograms within the inpatient, outpatient, or intraoperative settings.
• You will provide physicians with complete, accurate anatomical and functional diagnostic information.
• You will accurately prepare patients for procedures and correlate patient history with all tests that have been ordered by physicians.
• You will follow established surveillance, prevention and control of infection policies and procedures to identify and reduce the risks of acquiring or transmitting infection by use of personal protective measures.
• You will expertly perform all ultrasound procedures in assigned specialty service areas utilizing a variety of equipment and techniques in accordance with established clinical practice standards, hospital guidelines and protocols.
• You will, with proper training and knowledge of other functions within the cardiology services, may perform other duties related to clinical diagnostic testing and/or operational tasks that manifest a teamwork environment.

What qualifications you will need:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 7 days of employment start date
• (RDCS) Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer, or (RCS) Registered Cardiac Sonographer, or Associate Degree, or Bachelors Degree, or Certificate must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
