Job summary

UCHealth in Colorado Springs is seeking a flexible on-site Echocardiography Sonographer (PRN) to perform echo procedures and ensure high-quality imaging. The role emphasizes patient education, accurate technique, and safety standards within a structured career ladder.

Qualifications include an accredited cardiac sonography program or allied health degree, RDCS/RCS certification, and BLS with current validity. Experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Cardiac Sonography program OR an allied health Associate’s or a Bachelor’s degree.
• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) is required.
• BLS for Healthcare Provider and related life support certifications as determined at the position level.

Responsibilities

• Reviews patient history and physician orders; educates the patient about procedures and exams.
• Independently performs echocardiography procedures and selects transducers by anatomy for diagnostic quality.
• Implements safety standards, reports equipment issues, and transmits scan results to the chart.

Education
