Shift:
Full time (40 hours)
Day Shift, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
Weekend work required (Must be available to work Saturday or Sunday.)

Position Summary:
The Cardiac Sonographer I performs a range of cardiac ultrasound studies in clinical and research settings at various locations. Examinations may include Transthoracic, Exercise, and Pharmacologic Stress Echocardiograms, along with special procedures such as echo-guided myocardial biopsies, Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy studies, and others as dictated by research protocols and clinical trials. The role involves working closely with Staff Sonographers, Level II and III, Medical Staff, and Investigators to ensure exams are completed according to policies and procedures. The position also includes responsibilities as a clinical instructor for JHH Ultrasound students and Cardiology Fellows in the Echo Lab.
Education:
Graduation from a CAAHEP-accredited Diagnostic Ultrasound program is required. Additional clinical experience or credentials may be considered in lieu of some education.
Work Experience:
Successful completion of a CAAHEP-accredited Diagnostic program is required. Experience as a Cardiac Sonographer in a hospital setting or as a vascular technologist is desirable.
Licensure/Certification:
Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) by ARDMS or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) by CCI is required. Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) is preferred but not mandatory.
Knowledge/Skills:
Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and disease; medical terminology; ultrasound physics; and disease effects on cardiac function. Advanced sonographic skills are necessary to obtain complete examinations. High analytical ability to acquire images and measurements. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required to guide and instruct interns, fellows, and physicians. Good eye/hand coordination and high visual acuity are essential. Ability to perform transthoracic echocardiograms within a 45-minute outpatient slot.
Salary Range: $36.47/hour to $60.21/hour. Compensation will be based on experience and role scope. Salary discussions will occur during candidate screening if the range is not specified.
