Overview
Under general supervision, performs routine and specialized cardiac sonographic procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Executes clinical competence in cardiac sonography across all locations and patient types. Selects appropriate equipment and technical settings tailored to each patient, demonstrating the necessary knowledge and skills to provide age-appropriate care.
Applies knowledge of cardiac sonography principles, including anatomy, physiology, physics, positioning, and patient care. Performs high-level disinfecting procedures to meet infection prevention standards and adheres to regulatory compliance standards such as Joint Commission, State, Federal, and departmental guidelines.
Accurately documents patient care activities in electronic health records systems.
Ensures a safe work environment by maintaining supplies and inventory, reporting equipment or environmental issues, and coordinating with vendors for supplies as needed.
Participates actively in departmental and organizational initiatives to improve workflows, patient experience, and quality. Contributes to training and educational activities for students and staff.
