Job summary

Dignity Health Mercy Hospital in Bakersfield, CA is seeking a Monitor Tech to provide continuous observation of patients' cardiac rhythms and report changes to nursing staff. You will monitor EKG strips, identify arrhythmias, and document findings accurately to support patient safety.

The role requires sharp observation, knowledge of cardiac rhythms, and the ability to act quickly under pressure. Prior CNA/Monitor Tech experience is preferred; CPR certification is required at hire, with RQI

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required, upon hire.
• CPR certification required upon hire.
• Ability to interpret dysrhythmias on the cardiac monitor.

Responsibilities

• Monitor rhythm changes and dysrhythmias, assign telemetry boxes, and document demographics.
• Continuously monitor patient rhythms, run strips, and notify RN of significant changes.
• Answer unit calls promptly and direct patient information to appropriate staff.
• Maintain professional standards and participate in goal setting and policy adherence.
