Job summary

Los Angeles Community Hospitals is seeking a Monitor Technician to provide continuous observation of patients' cardiac rhythm and identify arrhythmias. You will notify licensed staff of changes, troubleshoot alarm issues, and document rhythm strips according to unit standards.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma, Basic Arrhythmia and AHA BLS certification, and strong English communication. Prior computer skills and familiarity with hospital safety are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Basic Arrhythmia Certification.
• AHA Basic Life Support.
• Understanding of basic medical terminology.
• Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
• Computer literacy and proficiency.
• Hospital Fire and Life Safety Card (Los Angeles City Employees only).

Responsibilities

• MONITORING SKILLS AND DOCUMENTATION: Provides continuous observation and cardiac monitoring for an assigned group of patients, reporting changes in patient condition to licensed nurse and/or physician as appropriate.
• COMMUNICATION: Engages in caring behaviors, taking conscious ownership for work and takes a proactive, deliberate, and thoughtful actions regarding work activities.
• EQUIPMENT MANAGEMENT: Effectively uses all applicable computer and office systems/procedures.
