Job summary

Southern California Hospitals is seeking a Monitor Technician to provide continuous observation of patients' cardiac rhythm and identify basic arrhythmias. You will promptly notify licensed staff of changes and troubleshoot alarms, while documenting rhythm strips according to unit standards.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or Equivalent, Basic Arrhythmia Certification, and AHA Basic Life Support, plus English communication skills and computer literacy.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• Basic Arrhythmia Certification is required.
• AHA Basic Life Support certification is required.
• Good understanding of basic medical terminology.
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
• Computer literacy and proficiency are required.
• Hospital Fire and Life Safety Card (Los Angeles City Employees only) is required.

Responsibilities

• Provides continuous observation and cardiac monitoring for assigned patients.
• Identifies basic arrhythmias and reports changes to licensed nurse or physician.
• Troubleshoots false alarms and documents rhythm strips per unit standards.
