Job summary

UCI Health is hiring a Cardiac Monitor Technician to identify rhythm abnormalities and monitor cardiac activity on a 24/7 basis. The role requires completing a Cardiac Monitor Technician program and maintaining BLS certification, with strong English communication and customer service skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Completion of a Cardiac Monitor Technician program designed for unlicensed health care providers
• Current American Heart Association BLS Certification
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology, basic computer skills, telephone skills, and English
• Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
• Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System

Responsibilities

• Identify and communicate cardiac rhythm irregularities to the team.
• Provide coverage and observation of cardiac monitors.
• Communicate changes in rhythm and recognition of life-threatening dysrhythmias.
