Job summary

Spectrum Health in Royal Oak, MI is seeking a cardiac rehabilitation specialist to lead exercise prescription and patient education across all rehab phases. You will implement high-quality cardio/pulmonary rehab, develop materials, and contribute to program growth.

Responsibilities include supervising tests (GXTs, stress echocardiograms, nuclear MPIs), arranging Holter Monitoring, and uploading results in Epic, while supporting EECP services and special programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science/Exercise Physiology or related field is required.
• Master's degree is preferred; minimum 2 years of relevant cardiac rehab experience may be required by site.
• 600-hour internship in cardiac rehab may be required depending on location.
• Current BLS certification is required on hire.
• ACSM CCEP or AACVPR CCRP within 1 year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provides all aspects of phases I–III cardiac rehabilitation and care management for Phase II patients.
• Develops and evaluates exercise prescriptions and sessions for cardio/pulmonary rehab and other chronic illnesses.
• Creates educational materials and delivers education for cardiac rehab patients and referrals.
• Plans and participates in events, research, internships, and programmatic initiatives.
• Supervises stress tests (GXTs, Stress Echocardiograms, Nuclear MPIs) and ensures valid data.
• Places Holter/Event monitors and 12-lead EKGs for outpatients; uploads reports in Epic.
• Offers EECP and additional monitor placement services.
