Job summary

MedStar Health’s Washington Hospital Center is seeking a registered nurse to deliver proficient nursing care across a spectrum of patient needs. You will work under supervision from the Nurse Leader and clinical coach, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.

You will ensure patient safety, advocate for quality care, and participate in ongoing orientation and education programs for staff.

Qualifications

• Must hold an RN license in the District of Columbia or be eligible for licensure
• CPR certification required for healthcare providers
• C-EFM certification required for Perinatal nurses within 12–15 months from hire date
• Associate degree in nursing is required; BSN preferred or enrolled within 12 months of hire and completion within 4 years

Responsibilities

• Deliver proficient nursing care to patients and families across complexity
• Collaborate with nurse leaders to develop standards of care
• Develop and document care plans communicating patient needs to the care team
• Advocate for patients and coordinate care with the health care team
• Document patient information reflecting assessment, interventions and outcomes
• Coordinate care for patients with complex nursing needs to ensure safety and quality
• Participate in unit/department committees and quality improvement initiatives
