Job summary

AP Health is seeking a qualified Physician Assistant to join our team in the greater Fort Lauderdale, FL area. This role requires at least 2+ years of experience in cardiac surgery, functioning as a Surgical First Assistant. Responsibilities include assisting in the operating room, conducting inpatient rounds, and performing endoscopic vein harvesting. AP Health is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant to join our team in the greater Fort Lauderdale, FL area. A successful candidate would have at least 2+ years of experience in cardiac surgery. This is an exciting opportunity to join a distinguished team that delivers top tier care.

This is NOT a travel, locum, placement, or per diem position. AP Health is not a staffing company.

What will you do:

• Functions as a Surgical First Assistant in the Operating Room
• Positions and drapes the patient under the direction of the surgeon
• Endoscopic Vein Harvesting (EVH)
• Perform comprehensive and problem-focused histories and physical examinations
• Daily inpatient rounds in ICU and stepdown units
• Rotating weekend and night CVOR coverage

What do you need:

• 2+ years experience functioning as a surgical first assist
• Experience taking independent call
• Board certified by NCCPA
• Active BLS and ACLS
• Comprehensive and flexible medical, dental, and vision insurance
