Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a perfusionist to set up and operate heart-lung machines for bypass procedures and to support cardiac surgery in the catheterization lab. The role requires a degree in perfusion technology or related science and a valid perfusionist license, with 3 years of clinical perfusion experience preferred.

You'll work under the direction of the surgical team, document critical parameters, and participate in ongoing patient care from adult to geriatric populations.

Qualifications

• Minimum degree in perfusion technology or related science or equivalent.
• 3 years of clinical perfusion experience.
• Perfusionist license required.
• Certified in Cardiovascular Perfusion preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate heart-lung machine for bypass procedures.
• Provide surgical back-up for procedures in the catheterization lab.
• Prepare and monitor bypass circuits, administer meds and fluids as needed.
• Maintain readiness to initiate bypass and document baseline values.
• Communicate with surgeon and anesthesiologist during procedures.
