Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Perfusionist to operate the heart-lung machine and related intraoperative devices under the surgeon's direction. You will provide surgical back-up, prepare before bypass, monitor anticoagulation and hemodynamics, and ensure patient safety throughout cardiopulmonary bypass in the OR.

The role requires a perfusion technology degree, a Perfusionist License (or NJ Temporary License), and at least 3 years of clinical perfusion experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• A degree in perfusion technology or related science.
• Minimum of 3 years of clinical perfusion experience.
• Perfusionist License or NJ Temporary License.
• Certified in Cardiovascular Perfusion is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set-up and operate the heart-lung machine for bypass procedures.
• Provide surgical back-up for catheterization lab procedures.
• Monitor anticoagulation, hemodynamics, and cerebral oximetry during bypass.
• Record data, complete perfusion records and checklists.
• Communicate with surgeon and anesthesiologist throughout procedures.
• Adhere to department policies and ensure patient safety.
