Job summary

Atlantic Health is seeking a Staff Perfusionist to operate and maintain the heart-lung machine during cardiopulmonary bypass and related extracorporeal procedures. The role includes optimizing patient perfusion, monitoring equipment, and collaborating with surgical and anesthesia teams.

Responsibilities include initiating ECMO when required, managing anticoagulation, and supporting OR staff to ensure safe cardiac surgery outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience operating heart-lung machine during cardiopulmonary bypass.
• Experience administering medications and blood components via extracorporeal circuit.
• Ability to monitor blood gases and maintain anticoagulation during bypass.

Responsibilities

• Operate the Heart/Lung machine to maintain cardiac output and hemodynamics during CPB.
• Administer medications and blood products through the circuit as needed.
• Draw blood samples from extracorporeal circuit and adjust blood gas parameters.
