Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health Inc. is seeking a perfusionist to set up and operate heart-lung machines for bypass procedures under the direction of the primary surgeon. You will also support procedures in the catheterization lab, ensuring readiness and patient safety.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and a perfusion technology degree; NJ Perfusionist License is required, with certification preferred. Regular collaboration with hospital staff and patients is expected.

As assigned by the Director of Perfusion Services and under the direction of the primary surgeon, the perfusionist shall set-up and operate such devices as the heart lung machine for bypass procedures, ventricular assists devices, intra-aortic balloon pumps, and the autotransfusion device. He/she will also provide surgical back-up for procedures performed in the catheterization lab. This list of duties shall not be considered totally inclusive of all services provided.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

• High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
• A minimum of a degree in perfusion technology, other related science, or equivalent.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

• 3 years of clinical perfusion experience.

Licenses and Certifications Required:

• Perfusionist License or NJ Perfusionist Temporary License.

Licenses and Certifications Preferred:

• Certified in Cardiovascular Perfusion.
