Job summary

UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh, PA is hiring full-time Cardiac Transporters to support daily operations in the Transportation Services Department located in Oakland. Transporters move patients and equipment between units following policies; expect a physically active role walking about seven miles daily.

Responsibilities include transporting patients, equipment, specimens, and responding to needs while maintaining professionalism.

Qualifications

• CPR/BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to safely transfer patients between beds, stretchers, and wheelchairs.
• Willingness to rotate 24/7 shifts and work in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients, equipment, supplies, specimens, and morgue patients between units and other designated areas safely and timely.
• Safely transfer patients in and out of beds, stretchers, and wheelchairs.
• Monitor patient heart rate, respiratory rate, and pulse oximetry during transport.
• Maintain a positive attitude with caring, concern, and support for patients and staff.
• Rotate shifts to provide 24-hour/day, seven days per week coverage.
• Follow departmental procedures and exercise good judgment in prioritizing work.
