Candidates need a high school diploma, a current dysrhythmia interpretation certificate, and a current BLS certification; six months of Monitor Technician experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required for all new hires.
• Current Dysrhythmia Interpretation Certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current
• Six months previous Monitor Technician experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor cardiac rhythms via direct monitors.
• Transcribe physician orders in absence of CPOE/EMR.
• Ensure labs and radiology tests are ordered and completed.
• Prepare and complete patient charts and ER records daily.
• Order supplies for the unit and assist nursing staff with indirect patient care as needed.
• In DOU, may provide direct patient care under RN supervision if CNA-certified and competency verified.
