Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Monitoring Technician to provide ongoing surveillance of patient cardiac monitors and alert RNs and clinicians to rhythm changes. You will review patient data to identify normal and variant patterns and work with a dedicated care team to uphold Mercy mission and standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, G.E.D. and/or current Mercy coworker.
• Monitor tech course completion and/or passing score of 85% on monitor tech competency exam.
• Basic computer skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to multi-task is essential.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to make quick decisions under pressure is a must.
• Experience preferred but not mandatory.
• CRAT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• The Monitoring Technician is responsible for on-going surveillance of patient cardiac monitors and provides RNs and/or clinicians with immediate notification of any changes in cardiac rhythms.
• Reviews patient information to determine normal heart rhythm pattern, current pattern and prior variances.
• Works cooperatively as part of a team.
• Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.
