Mercy Gilbert Medical Center is seeking a Monitor Tech to observe and analyze patients' cardiac rhythms, monitoring EKG strips for arrhythmias and reporting critical findings to the care team. The role emphasizes accuracy, speed, and patient safety in a dynamic clinical setting.

You will document observations, utilize information systems, and promptly notify the Charge RN or responsible RN of rhythm or waveform changes, including during emergencies.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Basic EKG class or successful completion of the basic rhythm test.
• American Heart Association certification.
• Basic Life Support - CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Monitor EKG strips continuously and identify arrhythmias.
• Report critical findings to nursing staff and healthcare providers.
• Document observations accurately from admission to discharge.
• Use current information systems to record patient data and monitor changes.
• Notify Charge RN or RN responsible for rhythm or waveform changes promptly.
• Function efficiently during emergency situations.
• Run and troubleshoot monitor equipment and report malfunctions.
• Obtain documentation strips at required times for all EKG/waveforms.
