The Cardiac Monitor Technician has the knowledge and ability to assist the Registered Professional Nurse in the delivery of care through the proficient and constant monitoring of the patient's cardiac rhythm status and pulse oximetry. This is performed always showing sensitivity toward individual needs. Accepts responsibility for individual job requirements and performance, able to contribute to effective unit operations.

Education: High School diploma or GED
Licensure: Must complete and pass Cardiac Dysrhythmia Course and Cardiac Monitor Tech Exam within 90 days of hire. Health-related career experience (such as EMT) preferred.
Ability to read, write, and understand English; perform basic mathematics; learn cardiac rhythm abnormalities; convey information to the nurse; possess a caring attitude; be flexible and cooperative; communicate effectively; support clerical tasks; facilitate unit activities; contribute to fiscal health; serve as a role model for Service Excellence.
Sitting for long periods, remaining alert during long shifts, light typing, exposure to dust and electrical equipment, fatigue, and eyestrain.
