The Patient Care Assistant II (PCA II) is an unlicensed person responsible for performing indirect care within the department. The PCA II monitors cardiac rhythms via direct cardiac monitor. They may assist patients with activities of daily living, provide basic nursing care, and help maintain a safe environment under the supervision of the RN and within the scope of the PCA I job description, as long as activities do not interfere with primary responsibility for dysrhythmia monitoring.
