Baystate Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the MassMutual 5 Heart & Vascular Interventional Unit at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA. The role involves providing hands-on patient care, monitoring vital signs, and supporting the interventional cardiac team. Required: High School diploma or GED and BLS CPR.

Preferred: 1+ year patient care experience or PCT/CNA training. Full-time nights with a 36-hour schedule and weekend rotation.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• BLS CPR Certification through American Heart Association.
• At least one year of patient care experience or PCT/CNA training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provided safe, age-appropriate patient care, assisting with activities of daily living and promoting patient dignity.
• Monitored and documented vital signs, weights, intake/output, and reported changes to nursing staff.
• Assisted with treatments, dressing changes, specimen collection, point-of-care testing, and physician examinations.
• Provided one-to-one patient observation as needed and responded to emergency situations.
• Collaborated with nurses, physicians and interdisciplinary team to ensure clear communication and patient-centered care.
