Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas is seeking an experienced CVICU registered nurse to join a high-acuity cardiovascular ICU team. You will perform comprehensive assessments, develop and implement patient-centered care plans, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• One year or more of Critical Care or CVICU nursing experience.
• Current Texas RN license or Compact State license with multistate privilege.
• BLS & ACLS (AHA) or (ARC) required.
• Excellent customer service skills, problem solving and sound judgement.
• CCRN & BSN preferred, not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform and document physical, psychosocial, and emotional assessments considering age groups (children to older adults).
• Anticipate patient and family needs and develop an appropriate plan of care with their assessment.
• Identify and implement nursing interventions with the health care team in a collaborative fashion.
• Prioritize nursing interventions and report changes in condition promptly.
• Document interventions and modify the plan of care as needed.
• Adhere to hospital policies and ANA standards while delivering safe, quality patient care.
• Provide education to patients and families; involve them in daily goals and explain procedures.
• Duties may include direct patient care, care of research participants, and related record-keeping.
