Job summary

Henry Ford Jackson Hospital is seeking a Clinical Tech to support the cardiovascular ICU. You will work 36 hours per week with a 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM schedule, rotating weekends and holidays, under the guidance of RNs and physicians.

In this role, you’ll collect vitals, assist with procedures, and help with daily activities while delivering compassionate, culturally sensitive care to patients across pediatric to geriatric populations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two semesters completed as a nursing student or RN program graduate, or graduate from LPN/EMT/Paramedic/Medical Assistant program.
• Certified in Phlebotomy.
• Previous Clinical Tech experience.
• Strong communication and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to tailor care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations.
• Experience in an acute care setting (preferred, not required).
• Valid BLS certification (or obtained during Patient Care Orientation).

Responsibilities

• Collect vital signs, data recording with precision and care.
• Respond to patient needs and partner with RNs to ensure comfort and safety.
• Noticing changes and reporting them promptly.
• Support mobility by helping patients ambulate and get where they need to go.
• Assist with oxygen devices under RN direction and apply slings post‑pacemaker procedures.
• Perform clinical tasks such as Foley catheter insertion, bladder scans, enemas, blood glucose checks, and documenting results.
• Provide help with daily activities, like dressing, meals, and hygiene.
• Support RNs during equipment use and bedside procedures.
• Deliver culturally sensitive care to a wide range of patients—from pediatrics to geriatrics.
• Promote positive experiences for patients and their families through kind, respectful interaction.
• Perform phlebotomy and IV access procedures with confidence and care.
